Update

Hello,

What’s up people? The summer is coming and this means that we have only four months left, the time past fast now if I think about it. Last week we start to plan our trips for summer, to work on our personal project and to update some things, we came with a great idea to go in Split when the other volunteers have the mid term training, than we’ll have more volunteers to film and more material to work, we are looking forward for this, it will be very interesting and fun, I hope.

I need to clarify something about my last post, it was not fair when I sad about our Hosting Organization, the thing that happened is that I stayed five hours in hospital, there you just think that you are in a foreign country and of course the feeling is not OK and a lot of another things, you can understand that, but we didn’t call them so they don’t have guilt for anything.

Interesting week

Let’s start with what happened last week, so we have kindergarten, filming, trip and Hospital

Kindergarten, we had the final event, celebration. it was sad but in the same time very very nice, I was nervous and excited to see the performance of the kids, a lot of tears, because my group is going to school next year, I was surprised by the parents because they thanked me and they told me I was a star for the kids, it was nice to see that somebody is really appreciating me, sincerely, also the parents gave me a t-shirt with the kids pictures printed on the chest, very emotional everything, we took pictures and we hug a lot… I will miss these kids and of course I will miss my Teta’s. Maybe very soon I will post some pictures.

Filming. we started to do our personal project, it wasn’t easy like we hoped, so for two days we tried to shot some short scene with Marta Gomez from Vukovar (our good friend) and with Loren ( new friend) , it was funny and let’s just hope at the end we will have something really nice. We are looking forward for the next challenge.

Trip, yes we did it again, with The Dacia we went to Pecs in Hungary.very nice town. very nice roads , unfortunately I was sick and I’m still sick but it was great!!!! So The Dacia was already to Serbia,Croatia,Hungary and will not stop here

Hospital, a perfect Saturday evening, instead to go in some pubs or clubs our health conditions told us to go to hospital, so for four hours we enjoyed and we spend quality time there, I am joking…so now I’m under antibiotics and let’s just hope everything will be great ‘a soon as possible’ , big minus for the Host Organization for this kind of things because when something is emergency or I don’t what, they work from Monday to Friday between 09-13 so the are not reachable for anything, but let’s just forget them, aaa I don’t have medical paper to prove that I’m sick!!! Next time.

Welcome back

Hello people,

We had our vacation,yuhuu…so we went to Bucharest, great time there, it was nice to see again my family, my friends, excellent time, my regret is that I got into Bucharest syndrome, that means we didn’t have time to do what we planned but it’s ok, we enjoyed our time with family and we went in the city almost very night, in the last week Nadja came to us, we were more busy, we went to the sea-side and we tried to show her the main attractions in Bucharest, I have to say…it was excellent but short time.

I will post some pictures now, sorry but today I don’t have so much inspiration but I will come back to you next week.

Romania

People we had the presentation about Romania, I don’t  know if it was a good one because at home for me and Cristina was good but on the presentation something went wrong , we had almost 20 people and I really hope they liked our work. In the beginning when we start to work we thought it will be very easy but when we went deep in research we find out you can not make a presentation about Romania or Bucharest and to present in one our, it’s a lot people…and in the same time we realised how much we miss our country, very soon we will go for the Easter . What else? At kindergarten we painted eggs and we did a lot of nice things regarding Easter, I will post some pictures for you to see what this kids can do.

I don’t know what else to say, it was a crazy week, we worked a lot, more than in the Time Sheet , I think it was a great experience and I’m so glad because at my presentation were all my friends, so I want to say again, THANK YOU, I received positive feedbacks and this matters.

Cycling

Ohh so much time since I didn’t ride the bike, last Sunday I went with bike to explore and to enjoy the sun, for 1 hour I had time to think and to relax a little bit, it’s a lot of pressure right now here, everything it’s controlled and you start to think and to realise this is not anymore a non formal education, unfortunate, but I decided not every post I will do to be only about this things, so lets start with what am I doing here?

We started to have more activities, like socializing at the Youth Club, University, personal project and writing articles, to be more specific, at Youth Club for now, we just play pool (I think I will be champion,very soon) and try to make conversation with the youngsters, it’s a little bit hard because I don’t know Croatian but let’s just say I practice my Croatian, I started to speak but just a little bit, at University, we have to go there with some questioner (written in Croatian, so you can imagine how good and how much I know what is written there) but it’s fun to go there to meet some new people.

Personal project, we decided to make a short movie to promote EVS in Croatia with volunteers from different parts of this country, we thought some thing like every volunteer to have 30 seconds or more to speak about his/her experience in Croatia and what he/she is doing here. I think it’s a great idea but we have to plan a lot to do this, in our head it’s very simple but you know in real life ii’s not like that, very precise and very motivated I think at the end we will have a great movie.

I want to say at the end because now the wheather it will start to be very good, go and ride the bike and drive safe (not drunk because here you can receive a fine :p).

My friends, I don’t know from where to start, its been more than 3 months since I write last time so its hard. I don’t want to get too much in details now because I will have a lot of time to write about this, so let’s start:

The first thing happened in this time, we change the house, now we are living 8 persons, the new volunteers are 5 girls, they came from Sweden,Bulgarian,France,Spain and Latvia, now we are a ¨big family¨ and that means now we have more responsibility concerning everything about the house.

Let speak now about what I learnt in my EVS because I think this is the most important thing and because this is EVS, no? We had bad 3 months but in the same time we learnt more about EVS, rules, human rights, emotional control, to think more before to act, ability to resolve conflicts, ability to make yourself understandable to other people involved not in our mother tongue, in the same time I think we learnt other persons involved how to handle with the problems and to avoid in the future the same problems with another volunteers, so it is a win-win situation for the booth sides.

What else, I am in the same kindergarten, everything its ok, we went to Split for the mid-term training, we had fun, it was nice to meet the same volunteers from the on arrival training, it was good with training because despite everything we’ve been through we actually we did something and we learnt a lot of things.

What’s new?

Hello,

What happened last week? Everything it is ok?

Last week…about kindergarten, Wednesday Cristina came with me, the kids love her and they play a lot together, Cristina spoke with them in Croatian and they say to us that she speaks better than me. We went to visit another group, we went to play basketball in the gym and other games, it is needless to say anything more because the tetas like very much Cristina and the kids too, now they ask me ‘why Cristina is not with you?’.

Last week we went to the library and to the gallery, it was a good experience and we had a lot a fun.

If it is everything ok? Now I am not so happy and I am very grateful to my tetas because they are very good friends and they support me also a lot so thank you.

Movie time

Hello, hello

What happened last week?

In the last post I told you about one boy from Macedonia he is coming here to teach us how to make a movie, he arrived last Tuesday, Oliver it is his name, very cool boy and very smart, from the first meeting he show us the program and he put us to edit one movie to see it if we can learn something , after, we made the schedule for the week because we had to do pictures and movie to promote the EVS and the Youth Center.

We decided to make the pictures and the movie in the week-end, this was a great idea because we had more time to practice and more time to think about the story for the movie and for the pictures too, we made brainstorm sessions several times and it went excellent.

What else? Last week they change my teacher, for Croatian, the name of this girl it is Biljana, why I am telling you about this? Because Biljana help us a lot with the movie and with the pictures too, she is a great girl and very active one, the days passed and the week-end just arrived and after long meetings we made the plane for the pictures and we made the scenario for movie. Of course this week was not only work, in the night we went out and we spend quality time together, it was nice to see how people from 3 different countries understand each other.

Friday night we received one news about one EVS girl from Vukovar (very close city to us) she came to stay with us for the week-end, Marta Gomes from Spain, hello Marta I know you read now .

Saturday morning we went in the center and we made the picture, it was very cold outside but we made good pictures, we are pro :d, in the night we went out and drink some juice and I tried to speak in Spanish with Marta, great experience.

Sunday, the big day arrived, we made the videos in 3 hours, the scenes, it was funny and exhausting in the same time, now the heavy part : to edit the movie and to find proper music for the video, Sunday night and Monday afternoon we work, me with Cristina, Biljana, Yuri and Oliver, it wasn’t to hard because when you work in a team it is easier to do it right.

Now I will speak about kindergarten and after I will post the movie and the pictures to see our work.

Yesterday at my kindergarten the Osijek TV came to film the kids, how they play, what activities they doing, I was disappointed because they told me only the kids has to be on TV and I told them I am a kid too , this week we will go the library and museum so I will tell about this in the next post. Hello, hello

It just past another week and now it is time to write again on my blog, to keep you inform about what’s happened in our EVS project.

First thing I want to write it is about kindergarten, last week I was only with one of the teta so many interesting things happened, for example: I was a teacher because sometimes I was alone with kids and of course I had a lot work to do to keep they attention and to listen to me, I’ve became a basketball coach, we played a lot of basketball last week and today too because now the kids all the time wants to play with me, with my tetas everything it is very good, today one of the teta bring to her a jacket for me because here it is very cold, I don’t know why but now here it is more cold than in Romania and I don’t understand why I can’ used to, so because of that and because I have 4 wonderful tetas at my kindergarten now I have a new jacket .

This week a guy from Macedonia will come here in Osijek to teach us how to make a movie or commercial for EVS so I think it will be very interesting and I’m looking forward to do that.

This week-end we went to cinema to see Immortals 3D, it was very nice and last night we went to a coffee with one friend from here.

Last Friday we received the visa and that’s it for this week.

Council of Europe visited me

Hi guys, again

In the last post I didn’t write too many thing and now I fell like I have to write more than usually,

So, let’s start:

Monday, I was at kindergarten and now I have a different approach with kids because from now I want to teach them some things in English, of course we play a lot and it is hard but with patience it can be done, later in that day I went to another group to play with new kids because I want to see if I can handle to play with them even they don’t know me.

Tuesday we went to Danijela’s place to take what we won (food) and I was very satisfied because the food was very good, after the lunch we made the schedule for the site. Wednesday at kindergarten I did a very nice thing, I recycled paper, with a secret recipe (my Teta knows it) to specificy more I took a very old paper and I made a new paper , later in that day we had an important thing to do (Me, Cristina and Yuri) so, we went to the Bus Station to pick somebody from Council of Europe, very important thing, the interesting part was this person is Romanian . Now to explain, she was here because Thursday it was a conference and she had to present some stuff, the name of this conference was Democracy 5, organized by 5 Youth Centers, one of this was CNC so we had to be there, I didn’t understand too many things because the conference was in Croatian language, but Cristina translate me some parts, after this conference we took lunch and after me, Cristina, Yuri and Mara we went to the city, to show her  Osijek, to see how beautiful it is , in the night we were at a coffee, so we spend quality time with Mara and we talk a lot about projects and trainings, I was very happy because I had opportunity to speak in Romanian with another person. We learned new stuff about Council of Europe, to be clear: Council of Europe it’s not the same with European Council because I saw a lot of persons that don’t know that.

In the last part I want to tell you guys, now I’m web developer and web designer ( I’m joking), we start to work more than before at the web site and now I can tell you, we made some progress but still we have a lot work to do. I think I covered all things that happened last week, aaaa…Wednesday night Andelko and Danijela wanted to leave us (me and Cristina) at the gas station, because I told them I know all the city and they wanted to see if I can return home ( be careful in the future, do not be so proud if you know something). I am just joking:)))
